I wanted to take a moment and discuss some things that will be happening next week.
We will be overseeding the Driving Range Tee with Rye grass starting on Monday while we are closed. We will drop seed and begin watering it in for germination. During this 10-14 days we will need to be on mats at Miller/Weiskopf. I know this is not where you would like to practice from, but this break will give us time to get the Rye grass up and get our first cutting. After we get our first cutting we will move you to the turf and allow you practice normally. Each week we will seed the divots made from the previous week with pre-germinated seed. My goal is to give you a great practice tee all winter long with an actively growing turfgrass. We will also drop seed on all target green tops to give you great looking targets all winter long.
Grand Pines will also be seeded next week. We will seed the DR Tee as well as the target greens. While this seed is growing in you will be in a smaller area for 10-14 days as the rest of the tee grows in. Once we have the seed up will move you to other spots and we will reseed the initial area that you hit balls from. I hate to be a disruption to your practice sessions, but my goal is to give all members a great practice area for the winter ahead.
